What we do

The Finance and Accounting team is a business partner for internal and external stakeholders such as management, auditors, and banks. The team works with colleagues across the globe and provides exposure to interesting topics and projects related to our responsibilities. We cover key areas such as accounts payable, receivable, tax, and invoicing areas to name a few. In close collaboration with our controlling department, we provide a strong foundation for finance excellence. Our team consists of a range of professionals, junior and senior, which contribute to everyday operational success. The Finance and Accounting department is an essential pillar of the company; therefore, its members represent a valuable and respectable team that always strives for excellence.


What you will do

Independent handling of accounting for our companies in Spain and Portugal in local GAAP and IFRS with the following focus areas:

 

  • Account assignment and posting of all current business transactions in all areas of accounting for the entities in Spain and Portugal (AR, AP, Bank transactions, General Ledger)
  • Independently carrying out and coordinating the monthly and annual financial statements including provisions, foreign currency valuation, quality controls, notes, management report, if necessary, in cooperation with tax advisors or lawyers
  • Preparation of necessary documents for tax returns (VAT, Corporate Taxes)
  • Contact person for auditors and tax advisors, as well as for the subgroup and group accounting departments
  • Communication and cooperation with other departments in English, Spanish and Portuguese
  • Preparation of business analyses for the management of the responsible entities
  • Support in the implementation of international projects


What we are looking for

Requirements

 

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business administration or similar and further training as an Accountant
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting
  • Strong understanding in SAP R/3-FI
  • Experience in local GAAP Spain, Portugal and IFRS
  • Experience in international organizations beneficial
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work with a high degree of self-direction and flexibility, especially with respect to taking initiative, prioritizing tasks and using good judgment to resolve problems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with hands-on-mentality
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese language – spoken and written
