Developer Performance Test Specialist

What will you do?

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of performance testing using JMeter for web applications, APIs, and backend systems.
  • Develop and maintain complex performance test scripts that simulate real-world load scenarios.
  • Analyze performance test results to identify bottlenecks, performance degradation, and optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and product managers to understand system architecture and ensure the performance requirements are met.
  • Create detailed performance test plans, test cases, and reports, documenting issues and results clearly and concisely.
  • Identify trends and provide actionable recommendations to optimize the overall performance of the applications.
  • Participate in architecture and design reviews to provide performance insights during the development lifecycle.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior performance testers on best practices, test methodologies, and JMeter usage.
  • Stay current with emerging performance testing tools, techniques, and best practices to continuously improve performance testing processes.
  • Lead and manage performance testing projects, ensuring timely delivery of testing phases within project timelines.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Performance Tester with strong hands-on expertise in JMeter.
  • Extensive experience with performance testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Expertise in analyzing and interpreting performance test results, with the ability to diagnose issues and identify bottlenecks.
  • Experience in scripting and automating performance tests (using JMeter and/or related tools).
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based architectures and performance testing in cloud environments.
  • Solid knowledge of load balancing, scalability, and system performance tuning.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex performance issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.

 

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with other performance testing tools (e.g., LoadRunner, Gatling, NeoLoad).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Kibana or similar.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Groovy for custom test development.
