What you will do
Most of the effort in an enterprise AI build is not the agents. It is the platform underneath them: the orchestration runtime, the authorisation layer that decides whether an agent may act on a production system, the human-in-the-loop approval path, the audit trail, the persistence, and the integrations into systems that were never designed to be called by anything autonomous.
That platform is what you will own. You build it once, properly, and the projects that follow run on it instead of rebuilding it.
You will work with enterprise clients where a design has to survive a security review and an audit, not only a demo.
- Own the AI platform foundation end to end: orchestration runtime, state and persistence, retries and long-running execution.
- Design and build the authorisation layer that governs what an agent is allowed to do in a production system, backed by a complete and replayable audit record.
- Build the human-in-the-loop machinery: approval steps, escalation paths, and the interfaces that let a business user accept, reject or correct what an agent proposes.
- Build and maintain the integration layer connecting agents to enterprise source systems — ERP, CRM, workflow tools, document stores, data platforms — through clean, testable adapters.
- Own infrastructure and delivery: environments, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, secrets management, network segmentation, observability and disaster recovery.
- Build the test and evaluation harness so agent behaviour is measurable and regressions surface before a user finds them.
- Keep an accurate picture of what is running: which agents exist, who owns each one, which version is live, what permissions it holds, and how to stop it quickly when it misbehaves.
- Provide guardrails as shared platform services rather than per-project reimplementations: prompt injection defence, output validation and PII redaction.
- Keep the platform genuinely reusable, so that the next project is configuration work rather than a rewrite.
- Work with client IT, security and architecture teams to get designs approved, and set engineering standards across the delivery team.
What we are looking for
Requirements
- 6+ years building backend systems in production, ideally including a platform or internal-tooling role where other engineers depend on your work.
- Expert Python, with real experience designing APIs, data models and long-running stateful services.
- Hands-on with an agent or workflow orchestration framework (LangGraph, Temporal, LangChain or similar) and a clear view of what belongs in the framework and what belongs in your own code.
- Strong integration background: REST and SOAP, message queues, file-based interfaces, and the older systems that only speak one of them.
- Cloud and DevOps depth: containers, infrastructure as code (Terraform or equivalent), CI/CD, secrets handling and observability.
- Delivery experience under real compliance constraints: auditability, access control, data residency, change management.
- Able to hold your own with client IT and security teams and get a design signed off.
- Fluent English.
Nice to have
- Integration experience with major enterprise platforms (SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow or comparable).
- Event-driven architecture and streaming (Kafka or similar).
- LLM observability and evaluation tooling: tracing, cost and latency instrumentation, regression suites.
- Experience running an internal platform as a product, with versioning, documentation and consumer teams.
- Security review, penetration test remediation or compliance audit experience.
What we offer
- A place where individuals are equally valued and where diversity and cultural differences are cherished.
- A global team of highly respected SAP and industry experts where you can make a difference.
- Competitive salaries (55.000 - 65.000 Eur) and a broad range of benefits, some of which are highlighted below.
