Sales & Business Development Manager - Financial Services

The position of Sales and Business Development Manager is a cohesive combination of sales and business development roles. It is identified as a position of key importance in the organization as the performance will directly impact our longterm growth and success. The position is a direct report to CEO of the company. The Sales and Business Development Manager will be responsible for sales of SAP Consulting Services and SAP analytical enterprise software in Financial Services Industry with focus on insurance, re-insurance and banking, as well as, to develop business and market reach within the focus industry in the North American region. The manager will drive sales by reaching out in the market to connect with senior level executives in Finance, IT and Marketing within the financial services industry while collaborating/working closely with a larger sales team consisting of consulting practice managers, pre-sales consultants and technical specialists at msg global solutions. Driving sales will further require the candidate to build close relationships with our partner SAP and work alongside their sales executives with intent to identify new business opportunities within the SAP eco-system and grow business.


The responsibilities include, although not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for setting up and meeting company’s monthly, quarterly and yearly revenue goals and pipeline targets for North America region in collaboration with msg’s executive management
  • Consultative selling with customer focus, intently listening to customers to understand & meet their requirements
  • Develop short term and long term comprehensive territory sales and business development plans based on msg global’s strategic direction
  • Create and expand opportunity pipeline through solution-focused discussions with clients
  • Leverage various lead generation methods viable for short and long-term opportunities and prospects, to meet or exceed established revenue goals
  • Proven ability to combine entrepreneurial drive with business-management skills to create a sales lead and bring it to successful conclusion
  • Lead complex sales proposal efforts that align with the customer as well as msg’s business requirements
  • Conduct research on market trends of msg’s products/services relevant to target market and evaluate it against its competitors
    • Assess opportunities on how msg can improve in its offerings
    • Recommend new business focus and/or opportunities for the company
  • Serve as trusted advisor for key client stakeholders with the objective of driving customer satisfaction while building and identifying future business opportunities
  • Closely align with account executives and partner managers at SAP
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, industry conferences, etc. in order to represent the company and its products and/or related services to increase msg branding and to build upon existing client relationships / identify new ones
  • Prepare and lead comprehensive presentations that align with the customer requirements
  • Work closely with Marketing team to leverage marketing methodologies including use of social media platforms like website, LinkedIn, twitter etc.; collaborate on developing marketing collaterals and campaigns



  • Understanding of financial planning processes (FP&A), accounting, business analytics and Big Data
  • Experience with standard business processes across the finance and core industry-specific processes
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to remain objective and use tact while leading sales
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships within partner and customer network to improve company’s brand value
  • Entrepreneurial orientation to drive aggressive sales initiatives to lead the company to its future growth goals
  • Possesses credibility and reassuring influence demonstrating the ability to cope with difficult and/or urgent situations requiring immediate decisions
  • Strong analytic, organization and problem solving skills which support and enable sound decision making
  • Experience in assessing opportunities to recommend broad range of solutions, products, and services
  • Excellent coalition building skills with an ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Persuasive negotiator able to achieve consensus amongst differing opinions to achieve desired outcomes
  • Ability to identify potential opportunities and elicit necessary resources and support to achieve it
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage conversations outside core areas of expertise

Education / Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing and business/technology related fields; Master’s degree in business or related area preferred
  • 5+years of consultative sales/business development experience in insurance, re-insurance and/or banking
  • Experience using advanced sales methodologies and tools to achieve and exceed your targets
  • Prior work experience within SAP ecosystem either with a major SAP consultancy or system integrator desired
  • Prior understanding of SAP’s value proposition and technical roadmap (HANA, cloud, etc.) required



50-80% travel, including international travel, may be required depending upon client/business needs as well as for training or other business purposes.
